Know what you stand for before you decide how you look
Most brand problems are not design problems. When a business cannot say clearly who it serves, why it is different and what it promises, every logo, campaign and website ends up guessing. Brand strategy settles those questions first, so the work that follows has something solid to build on.
How we work on brand strategy
Listen
We talk to leadership and, where possible, to staff and customers, and review the market you compete in. The aim is to understand the business as it is, not as the pitch deck describes it.
Find the position
We look for the space your brand can credibly own: a clear audience, a real point of difference and a promise the business can keep.
Put it into words
We write the positioning, values, personality and core messages in plain language that people inside the company can repeat without a slide.
Make it usable
We turn the strategy into a brief for naming, identity, web and campaigns, so it guides decisions rather than sitting in a folder.
What the work typically includes
- Stakeholder interviews and discovery summary
- Market and competitor review
- Audience definitions
- Brand positioning statement
- Brand values and personality
- Messaging framework and key messages
- Creative brief for identity and communication work

Branding workCommon questions
Do we need brand strategy if we only want a new logo?
Not always. If your positioning is already clear and agreed, we can work from it. If it is not, a logo alone will not fix that, and we will say so before you spend on design.
How long does a strategy project take?
It depends on the size of the business, how many people need to be involved and how much research is useful. We agree the scope and schedule at the start.
